Hey All,
No doubt lots of you can remember a time about 4/5 years ago, slightly before myspace took its hold on the music world..
Do you lot prefer each band just having their own identikit myspace page with everything presented in uniform fashion? Are you yearning for bands to start making "their own website" again?
Do you not care one bit?
Talk...

I miss the days of proper band websites. I remember being 14 and going on the less than jake website, it was pretty sweet - they had loads of little sections you could explore, as opposed to "here's some music, here's the tour dates, there you go".
I'm not really comfortable with rupert murdoch getting slightly richer for every myspace page viewed, either.

The Dauntless Elite have done just fine without a myspace. But I dunno, myspace does seem to make things a lot easier when it comes to listening to bands. It's so much easier to just stream music than download it, and then if you like it download it. But at the same time, like Tris said, Murdoch getting a cut from a bands hard work seems wrong to me. I think real websites are cooler though. Atleast they dont crash my browser because of too much "javascript".
Also, while on the debate, I miss emailing people. These days it's all about writing on facebook walls and such. Lame.

Even down to small bands - like anyone who remembers the old Carsondown/BDTY websites, remembered i used to put a totally inordinate amount of time into making really cool websites - The Shortcuts have still got a real website, but I think its probably been visited maybe 10 times in the last year.
I even used to love the shitty "freewebs" default ones that used to pop up with every third word being a spelling mistake.
